Vector Art

Amazing what illustrators can do, on first glance, I wouldn’t expect these “photographs” to be fake. Some of them look even better than 3d generated character art. You’ll find a nice collection of vector drawn illustrations from different artists all over the globe

In my effort to search for some Zbrush 3 tutorials, I stumbled across this huge collection of tutorials. And it has both 3d and 2d tutorials. An amazing resource and since it’s open to the public, you can submit tutorials and get rewarded at the same time.

ArtBlog.net

dom 7 11 07

I just found this really cool art blog, the great thing about this site is that it dwells deeper into the thoughts and considerations of what art really is. After dousing myself in a few articles, I found myself in deep thought, contemplating what art truly is, and whether what us commercial artists perceive art as, is truly a worthwhile experience. In any case, it’s a really good read. I particularly like one post entitled Degrees of Art. And anything that gets you thinking can only be good. Do check out Artblog.net and decide for yourself.

Artist Profile | Zack Petroc

admin 30 03 07

CGSociety has done an interview with Master modeler Zack Petroc. Known for his in-depth knowledge of the human form, Zack is considered one of the most highly regarded sculptors in the industry. Here is a short excerpt from the article:

I don’t remember a time when I did not love to create. In the beginning, it was drawing. The pictures I made depicted the standard array of scenery your brain finds awe inspiring at a young age. No pretensions about the subject matter here: Star Wars, superheroes, miscellaneous alien landscapes, and epic battles. The only point to note about my art at that age might be..

Step By Step | Battlestar Galatica

admin 28 03 07

DigitalContentProducer.com has a step by step overview of a CG sequence in Battlestar Galatica. I’m a huge fan of the series, having watched all 3 season thus far, it’s really interesting to the amount of effort put into a single cg sequence. They also have a video of the various passes that make the final sequence here.
