Vector Art

Amazing what illustrators can do, on first glance, I wouldn’t expect these “photographs” to be fake. Some of them look even better than 3d generated character art. You’ll find a nice collection of vector drawn illustrations from different artists all over the globe

In my effort to search for some Zbrush 3 tutorials, I stumbled across this huge collection of tutorials. And it has both 3d and 2d tutorials. An amazing resource and since it’s open to the public, you can submit tutorials and get rewarded at the same time.

ArtBlog.net

dom 7 11 07

I just found this really cool art blog, the great thing about this site is that it dwells deeper into the thoughts and considerations of what art really is. After dousing myself in a few articles, I found myself in deep thought, contemplating what art truly is, and whether what us commercial artists perceive art as, is truly a worthwhile experience. In any case, it’s a really good read. I particularly like one post entitled Degrees of Art. And anything that gets you thinking can only be good. Do check out Artblog.net and decide for yourself.

IESB.net | The Movie Reporter

admin 10 02 07

I stumbled upon this site while surfing through CGTalk, IESB.net, THe Movie Reporter. The name pretty much says it all. It’s a great site to go to if you want the latest news about up and coming films, surprisingly enough, they also have stuff like concept art for unreleased films, such as this article on Disney’s Bridge to Terabithia.

Allen Spiegel Fine Arts

admin 1 02 07

ASFA (Allen Spiegel Fine Arts) is the art representative for artists such as Kent Williams, Phil Hale and Dave McKean. I really enjoyed Kent Williams work on Meltdown and his portrayal of Wolverine is by far the most original, even though it is an adaptation of one of the most popular comic icons. The website includes a nice selection of each artist’s works and sells art books relevant to these artists.
